Children & Young People

Children & Young People are important to us

Junior Church

Junior Church meets on Sundays at 10am in the Community Room of the Village Hall (next door to the church). We read a child friendly version of the Gospel, then share some creative crafts and/or games based on this, before joining everyone in Church for the final part of the Service.

All children are most welcome, together with a responsible adult if they would like to come too! It is a relaxed, friendly session, catering for all ages. All helpers are DBS checked.

All are very welcome.

In April we ran a Children’s & Families Art & Craft Morning – it was a great time! Click here for more photos.

Baby & Toddler Group

All are welcome to our Baby & Toddler Group which meets on Wednesdays in Term Time from 9.30-11.30am in Marldon Village Hall. Time for activities, singing – and chatting.

£2.50 a session with one baby or child. £1 for each additional child. Includes snacks and drinks for children and adults. All helpers are DBS checked.

It would be great just prior to your first visit if you could email or text Sarah on or  07572 092304 to ensure we are not at full capacity.

Open the Book

Children love stories – especially Bible stories when they’re interactive, engaging and fun. Open the Book began in 1999 and since then thousands of school children have discovered Bible stories, during assembly and collective worship. Today, so many children could miss out on the great classic stories from the Bible – Noah, Daniel and the life of Jesus could be closed chapters if youngsters don’t get an opportunity to engage with the Bible.

Open the Book is a three-year rolling programme of themed and dramatised storytelling for primary schools. Teams of volunteers throughout the country use drama, mime, props, costume – and even the children and staff themselves – to present the Bible stories in lively and informative ways.

At Marldon School we Open the Book on Tuesday afternoons during collective worship. The sessions are led by Sally Watson, who is part of the Totnes Area OTB team. The Bible stories are acted out by the children. Sally would be happy to hear from any adults from the church who would like to get involved (tel 07889 280191, e-mail
